Town Board Meeting Minutes

3-12-2024

The Town Board meeting was called to order by Chairman Leverich at 7:00 pm. in the Angelo Town
Hall on March 12, 2024. All board members were present.

Supervisor Brown moved to accept the minutes of the February 13, 2024, meeting as on the website.
Second by Supervisor Geier, motion carried, 3-0.

Representatives from the Sparta Area Schools presented information on the April 2, 2024, referendum.
Colin Burns-Gilbert introduced himself. He is currently serving on the school board and is running for
reelection.

Lynn Luckasson reviewed the town’s insurance plan. Supervisor Brown moved to accept the insurance
plan as written, Second by Supervisor Geier, motion carried, 3-0.

Supervisor Brown moved to accept the lawn service contract by HDS Lawn Service with no change
from the previous year. Second by Supervisor Geier, motion carried, 3-0.

Ordinance Issues:

Tucker– Supervisor Brown spoke with him. Exline has not done as was expected. Supervisor
Brown will speak to the lawyer about dealing with the renter.

Williams in Lot # 1, responding to the lawyer letter with an email and pictures. There are still
two cars, scrap metal and parts. The lawyer will be advised to take the next step.

Lot # 5 is in bad shape as well.

Perhaps it is time to have Mike Jamesson begin work on our issues.

Evans– the dry conditions with the long dry grasses in the yard a safety risk. A grass fire could
endanger the village. Clerk will send letters to Evans and the mortgage company with copies of the
lawn ordinance.

Warner– the ordinances regarding building in the proximity of the landfill were enacted for the
health and safety of the public. Within a quarter mile was considered a health risk. The clerk will call
the Towns Association lawyer to ask if the trailer could be grandfathered in if sold.

An addition to the mobile home park license would clarify expectations for closure of the park.
The lawyer will look over the proposed verbiage.

There are no problems currently at the disposal center.

The proposed road repair plans were discussed and quotes from Scott Construction and the County
were compared. The County’s numbers looked more favorable. B. Anderson may used to haul
materials. Supervisor Brown moved that $150,00 be spent on the planned roads and have Chairman
Leverich sign the approved contracts. Second by Supervisor Geier, motion carried, 3-0.

Fort McCoy will not spend money on roads they do not consider part of the fort. Supervisor Brown
moved to make Gillette a class B road and a 10,000-pound weight limit on Gemini. Second by Superior
Geier, motion carried, 3-0.

The Monroe County unit of the WTA passed a dues request for $100. Chairman Leverich will contact Mr. Herrick to understand the reason for this request.

Supervisor Brown moved to approve the bills before the board with the exception of the WTA check.
Second by Supervisor Geier, motion carried, 3-0.

Supervisor Brown moved to adjourn at 8:25. Second by Supervisor Geier.
