Budget Hearing and Special Town Meeting Minutes

11/10/2020

 

The Town Board met Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at 6:30 p.m. at the town hall for the purpose of holding the Budget Hearing and Special Town Meeting for 2020.  All town officers were present.

 

The proposed budget was presented and discussed.

 

Assessor Neil Betts explained that he felt a complete walk-through assessment was needed to bring the Town in compliance. Certification was on the line.  His bid would stand.

 

Budget Meeting and Special Town Meeting

 

Chairman Treu called the Town Budget meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.  Norb Brown moved that Mary Carlisle be appointed clerk.  Second by Gary Peterson, motion carried.

 

Moe Amundson moved to increase the Town levy by 25% or $17,155.00 bringing the town levy to $85,778. Second by Mike Watters.  Motion carried by a show of hands 10/0.

 

Moe Amundson moved to accept the budget as presented.  Second by Donna Peterson. Motion carried by a show of hands 10/0.

 

The proposed Citation Ordnance was presented and the need to have a means to enforce our ordinances explained.  James Quartemont, the Town lawyer, and Mike Jamesson will issue the citations.  The existing ordinances need to be reevaluated.  The fees and fines must cover the costs involved.

 

Gary Peterson moved to approve the citation ordinance.  Second by Al Schalver.  Motion carried by a show of hands 10/0.

 

The Disposal Center now has cameras.  It is possible to obtain the licenses plate of cars at the gate.   The safety of the attendant is most important.

 

Gary Peterson moved to adjourn the Budget meeting at 7:35 Second by Moe Amundson, motion carried 10/0.
