Town of Angelo Town Board Minutes August 8, 2023
Town of Angelo
Board Meeting Minutes 8-8-2023
The Town Board meeting was called to order by Chairman Leverich at 7:00 pm. in the Angelo Town
Hall on August 8, 2023. All board members were present.
Supervisor Brown moved to approve the minutes from the July 11,2023 meeting. Second by Supervisor
Geier, motion carried.
Road Maintenance:
Kevin Schmitz plans to surface Goodwater next week.
Not all the patching is completed. Hopefully the weather will hold out to be able to complete
the work. Wedging needs to be done. The planned work may not be completed this year.
Land Conservation Water Modeling:
David Ellefson Has been working with culverts and bridges in Monroe County this summer.
The website has been put on our website. He is encouraging residents to go to their website for
information. Our culverts are in good condition.
Ordiances:
Crocker Property: The Board would like to move ahead with fines next month.
Stelter: We don’t have a working phone number. A letter should be sent to him
Bolling: It is better than two years ago, but another letter needs to be sent.
Highway 16 property: Issues remain
Evans: Alter Credit Union is the contact. A letter should be sent to him.
Arnold: the cars were removed from the right of way.
Mobile Home Park: Letter to be sent to request a meeting with a board member to discuss the
issues concerning the board.
Sand Mine:
The Chairman was contacted by the mine owner to discuss the issue. Chairman Leverich told him that he would
have to come before the board. The issue will be put on the agenda when we know if it will be
discussed. The Fort McCoy airport with the height concerns may pose problems. There have been no applications
to the DNR.
Private Cemetery.
A group is interested in using two lots of three acres for a private cemetery and possibly a
church and school in time. They will maintain the property and not have the town be responsible for its
care. Nothing in the Statutes prohibit a primary cemetery.
Classifying the Town roads as Class B has been one of the best decisions made. It saves our roads.
There has been a problem with a milk truck using the town roads when is not necessary.
Supervisor Brown moved to approve the bills before the board. Second by Supervisor Geier, motion
carried.
Janet Evans was asked to research software for use with the website.
The Warner Property has been vacant and vandalized. The board will look into the condemnation process and it will be put on the September agenda. Mike Jameson is still interested in working with the town.
The possibility of solar panels for the town will be discussed at the annual meeting,
Mike Arnold will be asked about the fire code.
The county will be asked to mow weeds further back.
Speeding and reckless driving is a problem on Harness. The town can only reduce speeds to 45 which
will not make a difference. Hopefully a discussion of the problem with the county will help.
Supervisor Brown moved to pay David Geier for two hours work clearing a road at $15 per hour.
Second by Chairman Leverich, motion carried.
Supervisor Brown moved to adjourn. Second by Supervisor Geier.
Respectfully Submitted,
