Town of Angelo Town Board Meeting Minutes for 12-19-2023

TOWN OF ANGELO

Town Board Meeting

12-19-2023

The Town Board meeting was called to order by Chairman Leverich at 7:00 p.m. in the Angelo Town Hall on December 19, 2023. All board members were present.

Supervisor Geier moved to approve the minutes from the November 14, 2023, meeting. Second by Supervisor Brown, motion carried.

Scott Henke and John Dustman presented possible plans for a sand mine on about 75 acres along Highway 21.  There would be no blasting.  Sand would be removed creating a 10-to-36-foot-deep lake over 50 acres in about 3 or 4 years.  Reclamation would be to the Monroe County standards.  Monies would be set aside or as a bond to ensure reclamation work. Possible effects on local wells were discussed with monitoring of local wells possible.  If local trucks were used to move the sand, traffic on Highway 21 should be considered.  A slurry pipe system might be possible. This was an informational meeting.

A group of investors presented a possible plan for the 19 acres across from the Town Hall.  They had planned for 16 one acre lots and a free space lot.  They were planning single family homes with no rental properties.  The road would be built to the County standards. The Board welcomes a subdivision on that property; however, sanitation was a major concern.  They felt one acre lots against the Angelo Pond would be too small.

Supervisor Geier moved to allow Exline five days before taking legal action.  Second by Supervisor Brown motion carried.

Supervisor Geier moved to have the lawyer write letters to Exline, Stelter and Williams. Second by Supervisor Brown motion carried.

The clerk is requested to send a letter to the Warner family regarding the condition of their trailer.

Two ladies from the JAE Mobile Home Park were present and assured the board that they had spent $4,400 on tree trimming.  Supervisor Geier will visit the park.  The dead trees are a health and safety concern.

A letter will go to the new owners on 15646 Hat Avenue. Welcoming them and providing the mobile home ordinance.

Chairman Leverich moved to ask the clerk to send a letter to the city and the snow mobile club lending support to keeping the grade crossing on Hazelwood open.  It is important to the snowmobile trail and has an important economic impact on the area. Second Supervisor Geier, motion carred.

The Disposal Center looks good.  A round of applause for Frank and his efforts.  Piles are ready to burn when conditions are right.

Randy Sullivan will be asked to come to the January meeting to discuss his new contract and the possibility of hourly work.

Supervisor Brown will add verbiage to the existing junk ordinance to cover the shipping container issue.  The definition section will be important.

Work on Impala will need a signed section on liability with each request for work approval.

Supervisor Brown moved to approve the bills as presented before the board.  Second by Supervisor Geier, motion carried.

Supervisor Brown will discuss the Evans issue when speaking to the lawyer.

Supervisor Brown moved to adjourn at 8:56. Second by Supervisor Geier,

Respectfully Submitted,

Mary Carlisle

Clerk-Treasurer
